Track of the week: Psychedelia’s finest Pond release the surreal Hand Mouth DancerOct 25, 20191 min readPond, put simply, are at the top of their game right now. For over a decade, the Perth boys have been working on their brand of modern psychedelia but always remaining experimental in their output. Raucous tours have been survived, members have come and gone, but the quality has prevailed. Their last album Tasmania was released earlier this year to strong reviews. Pond is now sharing live studio cuts of their recordings, titled ‘Sessions’, which will be out on 8th November. A video for track ‘Hand Mouth Dancer’ has been unveiled and it’s glam aesthetic matches the song. Pond has always enjoyed a close relationship with sibling band Tame Impala (frontman Nick Allbrook was a touring member of Kevin Parker’s live band until 2013) and Parker continues to produce for the band, including for the songs on Tasmania.
